Second Life
I think the makers of Second Life are not interested in you getting along in your first life. Or even liking it.
But I read in Wikipedia that they have added a currency exchange system to Second Life last year, where you can trade between their currency (called L$) and real US-$. You can e.g. earn L$'s by creating textures of new objects to expand their virtual world. Some people even gave up their "real" jobs and now earn their money by contributing to Second Life.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Nope, I loaded it once and spent 30 minutes shaking my booty with Wenchie and Slaygon and find it boring as hell.... that's of course if you are lucky enough for it to even be up and running!DHS wrote:So, i'm not the only one finding it as entertaining as a kick in the nutsAndreas Wallström wrote:(Slightly negative post warning)

I tried a friend's girlfriend's tamagotchi at one point. That was enough. WoW's the same thing (to me), and MySpace and... Second Life, I guess

So that's a graphically boosted multi-user-dungeon.
And now also for the inapt.
I hope that vision of the future of the internet is about to fail. Internet should be about information, not just cool looks.
Or will this go the way of the OS; command line interpreters veiled by graphical user interfaces?

All is lost.

As for "Second Life" I just don't get it either, I guess like "World of Warcraft" it proves I'm not a good nerd.
