Timbaland in unauthorised SID usage allegations
..and here it is, an official statement from Uberschall:
..and yes, I think I will buy their sample-CD! :)Hello Bent,
the song you sent me is definitely not on our sampling CD.
First of all the samples we sell are completely produced and
programmed by ueberschall.
Sometimes we deal with other producers but if so we make sure that
they have all the licenses to sell their music.
Second - the songs on our sampling CD are way shorter. They are only
snippets of about a minute and not complete 3 minute songs.
I repeat,
This song is definetly NOT on our sampling CD 8-bit Stylez!
But I think the best way to proof it is to buy it and see for
yourself :)
Greetings,
Wenzel

I didnt quite understand the point of this youtube...however just to clear things up. Martin Gore of Depeche Mode helped with Jamelia to do this track. So she had Permission from the Band to do sample Personal Jesus.Andreas Wallström wrote: No respect or no knowledge, like this smart person: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9opIWAg82I&eurl=

Erhhm, if you talk to him, you might remember him of the 800 pounds I still get for the Tusker AMIGA music & fx from 1992 he never paid.Chris Abbott wrote:At the moment I've also got a fight on with good ole' (I use the term ironically) Mark Cale about his plans to put the Last Ninja music into the DS, PSP and Wii versions of Last Ninja: both in remix form and in their original SID form, and all the music from LN1, LN2 and LN3. That's been "entertaining".
And: no, I don't want to drive his left-handed BMW instead

I already talked to him: I was expecting him to ring me up angry, and I wasn't disappointed (he's such a predictable guy!)Markus Schneider wrote:Erhhm, if you talk to him, you might remember him of the 800 pounds I still get for the Tusker AMIGA music & fx from 1992 he never paid.Chris Abbott wrote:At the moment I've also got a fight on with good ole' (I use the term ironically) Mark Cale about his plans to put the Last Ninja music into the DS, PSP and Wii versions of Last Ninja: both in remix form and in their original SID form, and all the music from LN1, LN2 and LN3. His last words to me were "Sue me. You're nobody, you're a chancer, f*ck off" Plus he called me a c*nt. This was because I reminded him that he didn't own most of the music created for System 3 games. I was very polite, too

The point was that some muppet Manson fan got all angry after hearing the Jamelia track, apparently oblivious to the fact that the original source was a Depeche Mode track. It's pretty obvious to anyone with a brain (i.e. not the YouTube video creator) that permission must have been grantedâ€â€after all, Depeche Mode are still a huge act, and Mute is now owned by EMI, and I can't see any record label taking that kind of risk!Analog-X wrote:I didnt quite understand the point of this youtube...
EDIT: Oh, and Chris, you should record those conversationsâ€â€might come in handy!
Now it appeared on the Heise newsticker as well (german only):

Glenn, I hope you take the hand Chris reached out to you. He's probably the most competent help you can get. I really keep my fingers crossed that this all is not just hot air, but eventually pays back for you and Tempest.
