At a press conference at the Churchill Hotel on Friday the 23rd of April 1982, Sir Clive Sinclair revealed to the world his new home computer: the ZX Spectrum.
Huzzah! Happy anniversary to my favourite home micro.

I always found it hard to dislike the Speccy, despite its many faults
Primarily because my friend had one at school, and we played Ultimate Games until he got a rampack and got Jet Set Willy... (that sounds like two diseases right there!)... ah, memories.

Yep - a great machine. It didn't really hold much over the C64, but man was it gorgeous to look at. Really - it was a beautifully compact little machine! Edible, almost!
@ Kenz - downloading right now!

I had saved money for over 2 years to buy a computer. I was comparing features to all available computers at that time and the C64 won.
But the Speccy is a cute machine.

That's what happened on my side. I flirted with the Speccy but the C64 scored. And I met a lot of interesting people because of the C64.
Had a choir in my heart and had to kill it to survive.
