Robot voices...

Post by Razmo »

Hey!... I need your help sharp listeners! :)

I've witnessed a certain... erm... "hatred" here and there in the community to certain remixes that involve "anoying" robot voices.... I'd really like to get some help list them in this topic ... why? you'll find out in 2-3 days

I need to know these tunes :)
Regards, Jess D. Skov-Nielsen (Razmo).

Haven't noticed anyone complaining about Makke's remixes which feature "robot" voices... (Cauldron 2, Glider Rider).

Just my thoughts, but if you keep it 'Kraftwerk'-esque and don't over do the vocal content you should be fine.
I think it's the more high pitched type vocoder stuff that get's on people's t*ts - well, it does me anyway.

Tomsk: Does that spell "Lagerfeldt" for example? :)

Now I'm not asking this to know what kind of robot voice would please you guys... I'm asking because R1D1 will be visiting a few friends, and I just need to figure out who's on the guest list

I really loved the voice in FTC's Last V8. It may not count as robotic. (Leads me to O2's version...)

I also liked the (getting off-topic now) funny witch voice in Cauldron (Hexenkche Walpurgisnacht HardTance Mix).

Do you mean humans imitating robots through a vocoder, or computers imitating humans through speech synthesis? There's a distinctive difference between the two.

There's a lot of speech in FTC's "The C64 Speaks". Ironically, it wasn't the C64 doing the speech, but it was done as if it was the sentiments of the C64.

I'm not really sure what it is... it's just that there has been a few times on the chatroom, where a little fun was made regarding robot's in remixes... mostly in response to the robot voice I made myself in my Terra Cresta remix... some jokes about robots killing other robots and such

Personally I enjoy the robot voices of all remixes... Always liked robottic voices be it vocoders or speech synthesis one way or the other.

Just thought it would be fun to implement a few of the "better known" ones into my R1D1 remix... that's all :)

Not really a remix and not real human voice but you can find a tune with Robot Voice on my myspace.
