Recording vocals with DJ Traktor

Post by Subzero »

As youre aware I like to make podcasts, but I hate having about 5 different programs running to record everything, I've worked out how to record the tracks playing in traktor, but cannot for the life of me get it setup properly to record vocals (i.e my voice!). If anyone can help i'd really REALLY appreciate it...thanks

The only way you can do this with Traktor is by using an external mixer and feeding the output back into your soundcard. Traktor has a fairly limited audio pipeline (one of it's biggest drawback is it can only use one sound device at a time).

So unless your soundcard supports multiple I/O (you would need at least 4 outputs for 2 stereo pairs and at least a line-in) and an external mixer with mic input your only option is to use a second program so you can record "What You Hear"...

Bottom line is that you simply cannot do this with Traktor using it's INTERNAL audio pipeline.

Cheers
