Should C64Audio.com try the "Radiohead" model?

Ref search engine visibility:

Google seems to pick up on the page titles (usually the first few words) more than anything else. Beyond that, it's text content and repetition of words and phrases on a page. I don't know that search engines care much about metatags etc, anymore...

"C64Audio.com - the Commodore 64 Music Record Label" is used for every page on the C64 Audio site - this doesn't help...

Also, starting each page with "C64Audio.com" is a bit of a waste. Each page should start with a variety of different (C64 music related) terms which the average person will be throwing into Google. I think even if these simple changes were made, there would be an improvement in visibility.

Oh, and manual submission to Google on a monthly basis DOES make a difference, nomatter what people say (don't just rely on the bots)!

Much sensible from Tonka there. And the page title should also correspond with the main heading (<h1>). Using h1-h6 is an important factor in making it searchengine friendly. I.e. <span class="heading"> is not a good way to make headers.

Repeating in the main text body is important, but should not be overdone. If you do the searchengines might take it as spam

Put some C64audio.com content on sale on Ebay and make sure C64Audio.com is written on the page.

Google Engine works on Ranking and if it finds c64audio.com references on other sites it will bring it up, and one of many ways to do it is to Sell stuff on Ebay, write a blog or article on other sites.

I know you dislike Paypal too, but I think there are some things which are just neccessary evils which have to be *reluctantly* accepted. Yeah, Paypal and Ebay take a big chunk, but if your selling 10x as much stuff on there...

There's no way we'd sell 10 times as much stuff on Ebay: what's more likely to happen is that we get mucked about, pay listings fees without selling, and have more faffing with idiots.

However, if we treat a presence on Ebay as good in its own right, maybe I can approach someone Malvern-like to become an authorised Ebay reseller of this stuff

In business there is nothing like love and hate, just strategies... can't let your emotions run off with you in business.... or can you? .... I don't know, I'm not a businessman.... just my vague guess

In the end do whatever makes you and the artists involved the most $, you guy's put the effort in you deserve to be paid for it, by whatever means.

Online auctions, paypal, global internet terrorismn (well maybe not) but you get the idea.
