Red Dwarf Question...?
Red Dwarf Question...?
Hey Guys,
Soz for the cross post...
We're interviewing Danny (the chap who played the Cat) on our Radio Show tomorrow and wondered if there were any Red Dwarf fans about?
Anyone got any questions? We will gladly put them to the man himself...
Best wishes to all
Cheers guys,
A x

Re: Red Dwarf Question...?
I loved Red Dwarf... I used to watch them late at night on Sci-Fi Channel.... I'm not sure if they air them in North America anymore.
I would ask him the question, if it was tough trying to talk through those Dracula or Cat teeth? where they always popping out of hes mouth?
Yeah yeah.. I know... I cant think of a better question.
What about if the cast still keep in touch?

Re: Red Dwarf Question...?
I really loved this. Though there was never a proper translation into German and some gags eluded me.
The cat is my favorite character. I saw him first in that scene, where he was walking around in a jolly mood:
"Mine... mine... mine...", hesitating a moment, pulling out a pen, marking a special spot, then "That not!", continuing strolling around "Mine... mine...".
IMHO that was the best acting of a cat that a human is capable of.
I also remember the stupid discussion where people tried to imply rascism because a black man was playing a retarded descendant of a pussy cat. I think that his skin simply made his appearance a bit more exotic and his movements were the main thing how he made his role perfect.
I would love to see a rerun of the whole series and I hope to buy a copy.

Re: Red Dwarf Question...?
It wasn't a pen, AFAIK, it was an aerosol, which makes the joke even funnier
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?
Re: Red Dwarf Question...?
My fav gag was when Lister gave Cat a bowl of milk and put it down on the floor on their first meeting, and then Cat says:
"WHAT?! You Monkey's eat off the FLOOR?!!!"

Yeah, but then he starts lapping the milk up, which makes it even funnierTonka wrote:My fav gag was when Lister gave Cat a bowl of milk and put it down on the floor on their first meeting, and then Cat says:

Excluding the assumption that you might be blind, you are also able to see it. It's not a radio play but a TV series. And it's damn funny, the BBC way (cheep scenery, one really nice elaborate Red Dwarf model, overall feeling like a stage play but great characters).skitz wrote:Did anybody record this show as I would love to hear it!

I don't think it was on German TV, I've seen it on Danish TV (I think) in English with Danish subtitles.Romeo Knight wrote:Sounds like an interesting show!

Dunno if the DVDs are in circulation in Germany. Maybe on amazon.
No German translation I'm aware of.
All is lost.
