Hi, I want to compose an aggressive song which would express "fuck the system", but I don't know a good style for it.
I think it could be techno, hardrock or perhaps melancholy. What do you think, do you know another better style for a song like this?
F*** the system

Re: F*** the system
You could go passive aggressive, and do a really explicit Rhumba
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?
Re: F*** the system
Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Atari Teenage Riot - all good places to start. Lots of 'fuck the sytem' type songs can just be an acoustic guitar (Billy Brag, Dylan).
Depends which particular system it is you are wanting to fuck, I guess... Whichever one it is, I'm 100% behind you (about 300 miles behind you - sat in my armchair watching Corrie)!

Re: F*** the system
i am no pro but you could try a fast tune (around 150-180 bpm) with filtered or flanged pads (that are chopped). if you make a sharp contrast within the instruments (dark/low & high peaks) it should do the trick... as always the good old "try´n´error" method is the way to go here...

Re: F*** the system
Oldstyle punk was first on my mind but Ninch Inch Nails is a good choice (Thnx Tonka!).
All is lost.
Re: F*** the system
Ahh yes - our Trent is an aggressive little soul:Vosla wrote:Oldstyle punk was first on my mind but Ninch Inch Nails is a good choice (Thnx Tonka!).
*NB. We would like to point out that Tonka does not endorse 'burning' of any description. Unless it is a CD or DVD. A legal CD or DVD, of course...This world rejects me
This world threw me away
This world never gave me a chance
This worlds gonna have to pay
I dont believe in your institutions
I did what you wanted me to
Like cancer in the system
Ive got a little suprise for you
Something inside of me has opened up its eyes
Why did you put it there did you not realize
This thing inside of me it screams the loudest sound
Sometimes I think I could
Burn
I look down there where youre standing
Flock of sheep out on display
Saw your lives burned up around you
I can take it all away
Something inside of me has opened up its eyes
Why did you put it there did you not realize
This thing inside of me it screams the loudest sound
Sometimes I think I could
Im gonna burn this whole world down
I never was a part of you burn
I am the agent I never was a part of you burn
I am corruption I never was a part of you burn
I am the angel I never was a part of you burn
Of your destruction I never was a part of you burn
I am subversion I never was a part of you burn
Secret desire I never was a part of you burn
I am your future I never was a part of you burn
Swallow down all that fire

Some Prodigy sound comes to mind for such a title (Firestarter, Minefields, Smack my b*tch up)
Re: F*** the system
Yeah - good one. Actually, any music with a distorted sound.LMan wrote:Some Prodigy sound comes to mind for such a title (Firestarter, Minefields, Smack my b*tch up)
Apparently, because distortion is so random, it kinda freaks out the human brain a little bit. I guess that's why a lot of these bands use it so much...

Ok, Prodigy could be a good thing. So I could combine Techno with some rock sounds like Apollo 440.
