twinky goes hiking... .. no honestly..

Yeah twinky goes hiking.. its a very simple little sid and I really fancied doing something like this, it harks back to where i started musically.. writing daft tunes like this.

Anyway, the transition between quiet section and bassline is totally missing (there will be a build up to it and a proper "drop" but the one thats there now is a bit shit) so it jumps between the 2 sections in an insane manner.. but i did that so you can get an idea of the 2 different parts of it.

Also towards the end the vocal part down there (dont get too excited its just the odd wooahh! type thing) will be changed so its not so cut and paste.. sounds crap atm.

But the rest (except for sound levels) is fine so far.. drums seem to get lost a little but i'll fix that towards the end.

let me know what ya think.

Updated slightly, it now has part of the drop in there, Im going to be spacing it out properly and filtering a bit to give it a proper build up but everythings in place now its just a case of filling it out and finishing it.

Very nice and different. Question - Is it just me or is there a crackling sound through most of the first half?

I really like the cool retro sound of the second half. Great stuff.

LOL at the game: http://gb64.com/game.php?id=8255&d=18&h=0

Twinky -- ALMOST as awesome as Mario and Sonic...but not quite. :duh:

once you get past level 1 which isnt easy.. level 2 pops up to take the piss royally AND even has little dragons lair moments in there where if your not pin point accurate you die.. alot.

Amazing what we put up with back in the day, LOL. The split screen and insane difficulty reminds me of Frosty the Snowman, where I think the general idea was to have two players laugh hysterically at each other as they ran madly towards their deaths and cursed the game loudly:

Personally I was always more a fan of the C64 games where you didn't die every 10 seconds. :P
