Thought this might be a good general thread for people who've heard a SID tune and wonder if it was borrowed from some other song. For years I never knew the SID from Master of Magic was based on the song Shibolet by Synergy, for example.
Anyway, I have some favorite early SID tunes that have somewhat complex but classical sounding arrangements and I wanted to call on your expertise and broad knowledge to see if you guys recognize these tunes as being unique and original or borrowed from elsewhere?
If you don't recognize any and think they are all probably original, I value your feedback even if you're not sure.
Here are the SID tracks:
Adventure Construction Set -
Tracks 3 and 2: http://www.slayradio.org/sid_info.php?s ... ns_Set.sid
Ultima III -
Track 1 (I think everyone knows this tune...): http://www.slayradio.org/sid_info.php?s ... Exodus.sid
If not "borrowed", are all Ultima III tracks aside from the Lord British 'Rule Britannia' theme original?
Spelunker -

Subtune #2 slightly reminds me of Alan Parsons Project's "[exturl=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MS3CAUN8Ns]Lucifer[/exturl]"RobinsonMason wrote:Adventure Construction Set -

I see what you mean, at the very end there. Just slightly though. That's a great song, I'd never heard, btw!omoroca wrote: Subtune #2 slightly reminds me of Alan Parsons Project's "[exturl=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MS3CAUN8Ns]Lucifer[/exturl]"
