Ghosts'n Goblins SID vs original

Post by Instant Remedy »

Did Mark Cooksey make an original tune for the C64 version? The version on the arcade had a tune which was way worse. The music on the C64 version rocked the a$$ of the original arcade version.
And why did he do this? Good thing he did though :)

Here is another one for you.

Legend of Kage... I had never heard the Arcade version until recently and I think the C64 version is waaaaaaaaaay better.

I thought I heard somewhere that the original opening of Cookseys tune was ripped from a classical piece? I think, after the opening the rest of it is all original.
I'm thinking Commando is a classic example of the SID version blowing the original tune away. Any others ?

Actually, Søren did a port of the arcade version of GnG which came of pretty decent. Grab it from this page: http://www.pressplayontape.com/?pid=bios_trauma

Urk, that was the ugly version.
Cooksey was king to ditch that tune and write his own :)

I'm very glad Cooksey did his own version.

Tomsk: The beginning is Chopin, read the details in the STIL. :)
