Ya know... I quite like this.. quite alot actually.

Took a couple of listens to get into it though.

I like the beginning its "original" sounding you wouldnt know it was space harrier from the beginning, i advocate stuff like this, embrace it like a family member if ya like lol.

The entire tune follows suit too, changing things about .. playing the lead line in a different way, the second section of the tune is used really well too and I really like the way you move from the mellow sound to a more harder feel, its a seamless move and the drum roll that leads to it makes me want to play air drums along with it.

The lead itself is a little thin in sound though and could do with being maybe a little stronger... BUT

The bass is a little thin might be an idea to fatten that up a little but not too much as it'll cloud everything else which to my ears is sitting nicely as it is so if you can up the bass signature a tad that'd probably make it sound alot better to my ears at least im sure someone else will pipe up at some point to give advice too.

The drum change towards the end is a little mmmm, you go from those stomping drums (really well balanced sound on them) back to a sort of live set at 4:12, the cymbal crash is a wee bit thin so it transitions a little weakly and to be honest with you thats all thats wrong with it, for a 1st attempt its DAMN good.

as the remix stands now, you'd get full marks from me.

so any added goodness would just cement that, a great little remix and I hope you decide to do more.

Quite unique and interesting - and since there are at least 8 Space Harrier remixes out there now, that's important. I want to hear more of your work dokmatik, and I look forward to recognizing tunes with this special sound.

hi again,

thank you for your creative and motivating feedback.
i am going to apply your ideas to my final mastering as well as I can (when it comes to finebalancing all the sounds i usually lack some necessary technical background...so parts of it might remain unmodified). although i will definetely try and fatten a bit those lead and bass lines.
regarding the cymbal and drum change at the end you are absolutely right. it didnt feel good to me from the beginning either.

since i need to return to work on upcoming monday i will have to finalize the track this weekend and post it to kwed for public release.

cheers

These great big walls of text have helped me no end with my "finished production" work .. well worth a read.

And looking forward to hearing the finished tune :-)
