One thing: I wonder how many people rate on the basis of the short clips, rather than the whole MP3? Judging by download-to-vote ratios when tracks first go online, quite a few, I'd say.

maybe the solution to stop this sort of voting is to require the voter to add some sort of reasoning along with their vote. It doesn't have to be a long review but it would be nice to know why somebody hates your track.

Thats a very good point Craig. Ofcourse there's no way of knowing realistically but it does give food for thought.

As for the whole voting system i'm pretty confident in it and don't feel there's a great deal wrong with it. One reason i think this is because the quality test team at RKO pre vote on tracks beofre they have been made public and mostly we are in agreement with our votes give or take one vote.

example:

person 1: oustanding
person 2:very good
person3: outstanding
person4: Very good

judging from this sort of vote we'd expect that when public voting has kicked in that we'd get a percentage of around: 80-90% which actually happens. if this didn't happen then i would feel something isn't right.

My approach:
I won't ever vote to something, what I don't like basicly.
I mean why someone vote about a song, what song probably made by a style what style a don't like?????
I don't like dance styled music so I won't ever vote anything on this songs.

So my final conclusion that this person was a bed, stupid person. Don't let him to break you down...

I don't agree with ViktorOrban in that :
So my final conclusion that this person was a bad, stupid person.
because if you have a hand for music you can vote for tunes you don't like in a fair manner. But I fully agree with him in this :
Don't let him to break you down...
I think it was a freaky incident of somebody voting first who just hates the tune out of whichever reason he/she/it had. Or just a lame joke to be forgotten fast.

I myself don't like every tune from DHS but I count on DHS as one of the best guys around here and every tune got its place on my hdd, even those I don't like so much.

Ignoring the voting until most people on RKO have done their voting is better for your health.
All is lost.
