Great News ! An App I am looking forward to ... Alas, not available in the U.K. YET !
There is a nifty Amiga Ball demo and newer Sid Player on the App Store, plus Androidz, a Paradroid remake !

I hear today* (on twitter) it's been pulled from the app store. This maybe because there was a hack to access basic, which was supposed to be disabled.
*I can't vouch for how accurate this is.

I think this confirms it as well, a message from Brian, Manomio :
Hi Alex,
It has been available worldwide yes, but this morning Apple pulled it from the store due to concerns about the basic still being in the app and "hackable" for skilled users.
We´re working hard on getting it back and will notify you as soon as / if we manage.

Its been pulled. People figured out how to stop a game and enter into the BASIC Shell, which is what
Apple is against.
Apple is against.

I'm a bit sceptical of this developer. Instead of making the appropriate changes and resubmitting when their app got rejected they made a ruckus about it. And after making the changes, they manage to leave in the one thing preventing their app from being accepted in the first place.
Apple has (surprisingly) been very consistent on this one. But the developer doesn't seem to be acting responsibly. I'll be staying away from this app.

Agreed, the whole thing has been a farce from the start. Attempting to sell an emulator (which has a free open source alternative on other systems) with unlicensed games does not deserve all the support it has been given.analoq wrote:I'm a bit sceptical of this developer. Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
Well they actually did get the appropriate licensing for the games and I do give them credit for that.
Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
nah, they ditched the unlicensed games when app was rejected (the first or second time), and now are just bundling Commodore's own rather unappealing games, like the Jack Attack.analoq wrote:Well they actually did get the appropriate licensing for the games and I do give them credit for that.

OK - I see what you meant now. Thanks for clarifying.
Re: C64 Emulator 4 iPhone - the wait is over!
No problem. You can also get the 'Commodore Sports Pack I' for free which includes International Soccer, International, Basketball, International Tennis and Le Mans. Obviously again, all Commodore owned games, but a lot better than the base pack (Dragons Den, Le Mans, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck and Jack Attack).analoq wrote:OK - I see what you meant now. What is surprising is that Commodore Gaming B.V. haven't sorted out similar licenses for the games that are available for the Wii (Last Ninja 3, IK+) as they are actually worth purchasing.

I watched the YouTube video which was linked on the developers site, which has been removed since.
If I had an iPhone I wouldnt buy it, the thing just does not work.
You either have a Button and Joystick taking up valuable realstate, or you use the virtual joystick but now your thumbs
are constantly in the way.
PSP is better suited.
