I really hope someone can help me, I've been looking for years for a video of this demo I remember from growing up with a C64.
I am pretty sure that the demo belongs to a program called Commodore 64 Music Maker, the one that came with the plastic synthesizer keys to overlay on your keyboard. The demo came off a floppy disc, I remember waiting several minutes for it to load each time with color rotating LOADING... text on the screen. The demo is a bunch of 8-bit music complimented by retro future visuals of space ships, glowing music keyboards, and other weird visuals. At the end of the demo it goes into a karaoke of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics complete with lyrics and bouncing ball.
Does anyone else remember this? Is there a video somewhere online that will allow me to relive this sweet bit of my childhood? Thanks to anyone who can help.
If I'm posting this in the wrong place please let me know.
Does anyone here remember the Music Maker demo?

Do we remember it? You're asking us if we remember it? Such staggering naivity!
I've compiled my own video and recordings of this legendary bit of Commie history: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7050
http://www.dustybin.org.uk proudly contains a mountain of my favourite links, my own music and various odds and ends relating to Commodore's musical glory.
Do we remember it? Gah, cheek!

I'm terribly sorry, please find it in your heart to forgive me for such a poor choice of words.Commie_User wrote:Do we remember it? You're asking us if we remember it? Such staggering naivity!

Unfortunately that's not what I was thinking about. The more I do think about it though, the more I realize that it probably wasn't the Music Maker that this demo came from. In fact the disc I had had several demos on it and this musical thing was just one of them. And by disk I mean black floppy not a turntable disc.

I think you've a mountain to climb if your favourite Commie memory is locked up in a demo.
But hopefully you'll want some new memories (as it were), so welcome to the forum and have a nose. Turns out there's a lot of stuff by me on this bit of board lately, so you'll not go hungry.

Well, at least it's probably one of the best places to make that inquiry. I have no idea what demo we're talking about but chance is that someone in here might - the downside is that it may happen in quite a while. But stay tuned - or get the forum to send you a mail when there is activity in this thread! Good luck!

But I know I'll find it eventually. And yes, I'll take a deeper look at dusty bin and see what all is in there. I'm not a hobbyist when it comes to the C64 but I do love remembering it from time to time. Press Play On Tape makes me happy. Thanks for the welcome, I'll poke in and out when I can.
Yeah, I set it to give me an email everytime there's a reply.beyond wrote:Well, at least it's probably one of the best places to make that inquiry. Hi and welcome! Can you place a year on the demo? E.g. "earlier than"
Also, here might be a good place to ask: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/forums/?roomid=9

I have no clue. Before 1990. I realize that's not much help.LMan wrote:Hi and welcome! Can you place a year on the demo? E.g. "earlier than"
