Yep - I'm an idiot...

Post by Tonka »

Hi all.

Can someone please help me with a little problem I have been having with Sidplay2/W?

I always prefered the Re-sid option in the old Sidplay (R.I.P), and I know that the new Sidplay2 supports the Re-sid engine but I CANNOT get the bugger to work, and there seems to be very limited info on how to do this.

There used to be a little selection box where you just switched it to Re-sid, but it hath GONE!

If anyone out there is currently using the new Playsid2/W with the new Re-sid engine PPLEEEAASSEEE could you give me some (VERY SIMPLIFIED) instructions on how to get it working?

I must admit I though the SidPlay2 used the ReSID engine to emulate the 6581 by default and this was the only option now...

Looking at the help it say the ReSID 0.13 are being used... maybe I am missing the point..

Hmm... Not certain of that - can anyone else confirm this?

I know it is now a cycle based emulator (as is Re-sid), but it certainly doesn't sound as good as the Re-sid emulation that can be found in the new version of vice.

The main problem is the lack of the 'oversampling' option without which, many of my fav choons from (esp by Tim Follin) are quite painful to listen to!!!

Thanks for the response,

Tonka
