3D TV's

Post by Analog-X64 »

There is a lot of Buzz for 3D TV's.

I think 3D TV's are just an interim technology towards Holographic Displays. :)

How fun will it be sitting there with those glasses on just for 3D? Not me anyway, and a BIIIIIG TV or projector screen would be much needed to take advantage of the 3D effects I guess or else it will be like Meh? what happend, was that 3D, I missed that... :P

Just because it's 3D doesn't mean the programmes/films will actually be any better quality...

Well, on Virgin Media there's still only about 5 HD Channels, and it's been a fairly long time since HD came in: it will probably take even longer for more 3D content to be generated. The question is: is it worth paying x,000 just to watch the Sky 3D channel? It might be ten years before they start making property programmes in 3D :)
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?

3D films are a gimmick to prevent piracy, a pretty crappy one when you consider how much extra you need to pay to see one. Even Avatar (best example of a 3D film) shows that 3D still has many faults.

Why this technology is being moved into TV (and games) is completely beyond as I think it's a complete waste of time.

This 3D thing will be just an inbetween technology to something else like holographic projections or something.

Now they've announced a 3D Sports channel in the U.S.
