MacBook Pro + Korg NanoKey + Cubase with plugins?

Post by Komet64 »

Hello.

Would the MacBook Pro with 4 Gb RAM and 2,4 GHz Core 2 Duo and its built-in soundcard be enough to run Cubase with a number of plugins, or would I have to buy a seperate soundcard? I was thinking of getting the Korg nanoKey and possibly the nanoKontrol and have myself a studio-in-a-shoulderbag.

Thanks!

Original post is several months old but I'd suggest getting Akai LPK25 instead of Korg's NanoKey. Much better build quality for the same amount of money.

I prefer the nanoKey over the LPK25; the black keys on the LPK25 are so thin it's difficult to play. The whites/blacks on the nanoKey are small too, but uniformly so, and are harder to miss/misfire as they're more separated.

cheers.
