256 SID Percussion Samples
256 SID Percussion Samples
Hi... a little treat for the scene... I sampled 256 samples of the real deal (SID6581R4AR) using a HardSID 4U Studio version, taking every percussion sound I could get my hands on from all of Hubbard's tunes... I did this to make a percussion bank for my new KORG ESX-1 SD sampler/drumbox. You can download all of them here:
http://razmo.ziphoid.com/C64-RH.rar
They were painstakingly sampled and edited one by one, playing back the original tunes, searching for them and muting irrelevant channels while sampling, taking about a weeks time (on/off).
Use them for whatever you want, as long as you do not sell them or anything like that
I actually made a track for my future album using these percussion sounds (some of them), which you can listen to here:
http://razmo.ziphoid.com/TheBigBang_Chapter2.mp3
Maybe you recognice some of them

Re: 256 SID Percussion Samples
Friggin Awesome Razmo!!! First for sharing the samples and two for this most excellent tune.
Very nice sounding, it brought back memory's of the old days waiting for a demo music download at 300 baud from
some BBS and then listening to the sid sing.

Thanks for the words Analog-X64
This is nothing but the first set of C64 samples, as I've plans for other banks... next up will probably be Daglish, Galway and Whitaker... others will follow... I bet more SID drums will find it's way into my future album ... when tweaked through the KORG ESX-1's sound engine and Tubes they get new life, more punch but they still retain their "feel" which was what I was after... guess it's my ongoing "campaign" telling the world that SID rocks even in the 21st century

Re: 256 SID Percussion Samples
I'm still on track on building my Hybrid studio mix of real gear with VST's. One of the first things I'd like to do is to get the EMU 5000 Ultra sampler up and running and load them up with these banksRazmo wrote: when tweaked through the KORG ESX-1's sound engine and Tubes they get new life, more punch but they still retain their "feel" which was what I was after... guess it's my ongoing "campaign" telling the world that SID rocks even in the 21st century
Right now is Time and Money that's slowing me down. We are moving into a new building at work and at the same time opening another office in another city so thats got me very busy.

Re: 256 SID Percussion Samples
I'm getting server errors when trying to access both the .rar and the .mp3 referenced in the original post. Is the site down, or is it just a temp hiccup?
Edit: Never mind. 'Tis working fine now (as is remix.kwed.org, which was also unavailable earlier)
Love the track, and thanks for sharing the sample pack!

Re: 256 SID Percussion Samples
Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but does anyone still have these samples anywhere? Link has been down for a while it seems.
Thanks!
