New remix in the queue.......

Post by Sonic Wanderer »

This time I remixed something well-known, but in a way a bit different from my usual sound.
Feedback welcome if it gets through onto the public page. =)

Ok, Mermy-Firmy. If it's through the queue until then. You never know if it gets kicked out, so you'd better wait 'til then, aight? 8)

Yay! Euro power rock... though that lead is a bit irritating: a bit mid-rangey, except when it distorts and is nice :)

Great backing. A powerful 80s statement, full of zest :)

Actually, the midrange *is* a bit loud in there...but there's nothing to be done anymore. Noticed too late. Live with it. 8)

Power is nice. Too bad I don't have any to use, ruling the world though.

What's "zest"? :?:

That haircolour has faded into some kind of blonde these days, and such clothes should be outlawed!!!! 8)

Damn those parents that think their kids look cute in odd clothes!!!!

Aaaaaargh! The pAiN!!!!!! THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The childhood memories hit me once more, with the power of 10 constructionyard sledgehammers, dipped in glue and nails.

Good thing children didn't notice or care what they were wearing those days. Today it's a different story. *sigh*

Would be cool! But if you look close at my avatar, it's not a C64 I'm sitting in front of. It's an ABC80, the first all-made-in-sweden home computer. With monochrome graphics, and a resolution of atleast 100x100 pixels (the crowd goes "Oooooooohhh!!!!!").
It was fun back then anyways. =)
I actually saw a "demo" on it with digitized speech!!!!! (Maybe I should mention that if it hadn't been mentioned in the demo, what the voice said, you wouldn't have been able to understand a single bit of what those chunky bytes tried to squeal.): 8)

Ah, memories. In my younger years we had a Luxor video gaming system (or "tv-spil" as everything was refered to back then). Colour graphics, sound, and some neat controllers that had twist left/twist right/up/down in addition to the usual 8 directions. Had a blackjack and some sorta tank battle game. Big yellow chunky cartridges with intruguing text that promised hours of entertainment. And they did, too.
Sadly my parents threw it out years later after it had stopped working.

But the Pong console I got for christmas back in the late 70s still works. Got it plugged into the telly right now. :D

Actually I believe it has 40x24 text mode with an additional teletext block resolution of 80x72 (each character is 2x3 pixels). Its big brother, ABC800 had colours and was a decent business machine before the IBM PC run over all competition in that field.

The ABC80 had no sound capabilities of its own, but it was possible to route sounds to the special tape recorder. I have a couple of Z80 machine code programs for ABC80 which acts like a piano but requires the record button on the tape recorder to be pressed down. This was probably a seldom seen effect and won't generate a remix scene of its own. :)

ABC80 btw was a cooperative project between the designer from Datasaab, the producer Scandia Metric and the reseller Luxor which was sold by Luxor as ABC80 and by Scandia Metric as Metric 65. The later model, ABC800 was designed by Luxor and Facit (sold as DTC-something) while Scandia Metric produced their own followup machine. In the mean time, Ericson had imported their first Panasonic PC and rebadged it and later developed a computer of their own. If these five companies had joined their forces, maybe there had been a major computer hardware industry in Sweden today producing a 3 GHz ABC-80000...
