Help to find a favourite Amiga tune :)
Hi folks...
Richard here, originally from the UK, now in Japan. A long time ago, a friend recorded some Amiga themes onto cassette for me (that is how long ago) and there is one which I really love but just can’t trace. It would have been recorded around 1991-2 and has very noticeable strong beat and three sharp steel-type guitar twang with strong drums.
The main feature without uploading a sample, since I don’tve a cassette player to hand, is the three harsh guitar chords. I think it is the title theme. Starts off with drums only then guitar. Very twangy and short, like a mashed chord. An aggressive theme.
Approximate rhythm:
Doo- deeee – dode de de de de de doo – deeedooo
I know this sounds incredibly vague even embarrassing and you guys are all busy people but it would be great if you could shed some light on what it might be. Names that possibly come to mind are Ocean, Bitmap Brothers, Psygnosis, etc. etc. I would know it as soon as I hear it but need some clues as to what it might be.
Thanks in advance!
Richard

Maybe the death tune in Shadow of the beast 1 or 2.

No - I just checked - awesome though it is. It was much punchier and rockier than that. I could be wrong saying psygnosis etc., I just hope my vague description rings a bell with some people who can throw out some suggestions. Thanks anyway for trying!
Re: Help to find a favourite Amiga tune :)
Ray Norrish did a bunch of Amiga tunes that featured guitar samples for Psygnosis (most notably "The Killing Game Show"). Check out his stuff at http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Ray_Norrish - perhaps one of these soundtracks includes the tune you are looking for. Good luck!

Hi folks - I found the tape !!
It is a horrible recording sorry but if you could listen and tell me if it rings any bells. I am wondering whether it is a racing game...

I don't recognize the tune, but it does have that early MOD sound to it, like the ST-00 to ST-10 sample disks.

I agree. Can't help noticing that the Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge music is very similar. But it isn't it.

Very pleased to say a kind person put me out of my misery.
"It's the Line of Fire music by Dave Lowe"
So there you have it. The music was from the US Gold game "Line of Fire" !!
