Can someone help me out with vocals?!

Post by Amok »

Hello everyone :)

I am working on a cover version (I know there are already gazillions out there  ) of the Interactive track "Living without your love". But I am having big troubles to get some fitting vocals. I already use Auto-Tune and pitched the vocals up, but somehow it sounds like crap.

Maybe some of you real great musicians here on the board can help me out? Either with some hints i maybe have overlooked using auto-tune or maybe even with some vocals from you?

Any help would be much appreciated

For those who do not know what track I am talking about:

Thanks in advance

Still not the desired vocals. I uploaded the WIP on SoundCloud. I guess it is easier to find out what I am doing wrong that way... :)

Any help is welcome :)

Thanks :)

P.S.: Cool thing that it is possible now to embed the soundcloud player. Great work admins :)

Don't change it. I think I know what you're after but the sound of your voice being computer-crunched gives the track character.

And bear in mind I can't STAND this type of music so this is no small magnetism!

Very catchy, any chance of using a lead instrument instead of vocals? Your choice of course.

I don't know the original but I think the vocals fit in. :)

I'd like it better without the pitch shift on the vocals. I think the auto tune effects would sound better with the normal pitch and it would set this a little more apart from the original.

Correct. I ignored the original in the youtube video and listened ONLY to the cover version to be unbiased.

I wonder which tool you used for the computer crunched voice. Sounds good!
I'm always looking for vocoder tools and other voice changing tools.

By the way, I also wouldn't change it... :)

Thank you

I used Auto-Tune (http://www.antarestech.com/products/auto-tune-evo.shtml) and a bit of T-Pain engine (http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/t ... engine.asp).

By the way, i received the permission from the original publishers to release the cover version on iTunes and co. :dancing:

Be prepared... ;)
