I think the time is right for England to knock Germany out on penalties. Though, we've probably been trying that for some time. :)

Something like this will do very nicely! :D

Nope, it is because Germany is the land where Jack Tramiel picked up the name Commodore:
http://www.i-m.de/home/computergeschich ... ramiel.htm

He saw an Opel Commodore ( a car ) in Berlin, and because all Germans
know how to say "Commodore", it was a success in Germany.
Imagine "Knight Rider" was called "Dull looking man with speaking car",
it would have never been a success....

Being a big C64 and Amiga fan, no question why I drive an Opel Astra (still hoping for an Opel Amiga some day :D

that score......

I think that it comes down to german sense of humour......
Ill explain.

we in our xenephobic way's like to think germans (Well not all of us) that our friends in germany are as humurous as a plank of wood roughly dragged up between the legs to smack the old love spuds.

This is just not the case.

5:1......lap it up english people.........because they LET that happen so that come the european finals/world cup they would casually remind us how they have only ONCE not been in a worldcup final match and how they ALWAYS take us out of european competition.

then they care to mention bayern munich and frankfurt to all the man u fans and then they LAUGH (and rightly so) at us poor unfortunate and shit at football english people.

patriotismn? my arse!.
Till we feild an entire team of david beckhams (without the stupid floppy haircut) were not gonna win nuffink......and if we keep allowing things like rio gate to happen.....foreign players to take our youth players places then we not gonna get anywere......may not be nice but its the truth.

dont expect us to pick up any trophy this european cup....maybe next time.

personally id like to see wales win it........... but then id like to see jenna jameson marrying me and settling down in a nice little house.....both have about as much chance of happening lol.

Actually, I read a completely different version of that story... Jack Tramiel was looking for a name, and saw a van for a removals company called "Commodore". He liked the name and used it for his calculator company...

As for the football, good luck to the countries involved in the play-offs this week, England already qualified :D and I bet we end up playing Germany some time in the tournament :(
