Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
Looks like someone could do with the whole Commodore for Christmas, not just a USB thingy.
Wonder if it's his substitute for turkey.

Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
Happy new year!!!
I had some spare time during my christmas vacation. I built a 2.0 version of the software. It now supports USB reflashing so you can reprogram it with a new software as you wish. It could be to support a new version or different hardware. You can build your own if you want!
For example, I built a version that support the Amiga Mouse and is detected by Windows like a standard mouse. Possibilities are now wider opened, keeping the same hardware.
I'm working on a firmware that will support CD32 controllers (6 buttons). If there is beta testers or developpers out there, I'd be happy to assist.
Ciao! Nitz

Great news!
Confirmed today, the adapter with firmware 2.0 now support Amiga NG under Amiga OS4.1!
This means you can use your old joysticks on your new Amiga.
Cheers!

Hello there!
The adapter now support the CD32 joypad. You can reflash your adapter with the special firmware to support it:

Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
Since I've started june 2012, I shipped a bit more than 500 USB joystick adapters!!!
I want to thank everyone out there that encouraged my project!!!
I'm now working on several other projects;
- RGB to YPbPr adapter (Amiga DB-23 video adapter for modern TV)
- PlipBox spinoff (Parallel Amiga Network adapter)
- NES/SNES controller USB adapter
- Arcade USB joystick adapter (for MAME cabinet integration)
- Paddles USB adapter
Anyone interested?

Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
I ordered one of these myself, and they came over from Canada to the UK in the post very quickly and securely.
Tried it with MAME and with WinVICE, and it's just so nice to be able to use a proper competition pro for most games, and the adjustable stick of the Cruiser for the likes of Track and Field on MAME, impressive stuff. I'll have to give it a blast on the Raspberry Pi sometime.
Well worth getting one if you've not done so already.

Re: USB C64 Joystick adapter (for emulator)
Looking at it, I think you must need rose-tint specs to get the best of it. After riding the great control of the Playstation pads or solid PC joystick, the old ones can be mediocre in comparison. Or just plain bad.
Those Cheetahs could be so atrocious and unresponsive, I can't believe it's an iconic design millions bought. But they did. I'll never let this near my Amiga again yet others swear by its crappiness to take them fully back in time.
If you need fight the controls just to play the game, it's probably not the stick for you.

Yup... This depends what kind of game you wanna play. Definitively not for fight games (except Exploding Fist).Commie_User wrote:Looking at it, I think you must need rose-tint specs to get the best of it. This is why I support CD32 and eventually Sega 6 buttons pads in a later version.
Re: Yup, It's this time of year again!
Since I'm out of stock for now (sold 250 units during my promo sale) I'll extend the "pre sale" period until I'll ship again. It should be around the 20th of January, depending on factory's load.Nitz76 wrote:

Ah, there's no need to defend a crap brand! Those sticks are as stiff as a corpse, though there were plenty of good brands.Yup... This depends what kind of game you wanna play.
I'm certainly interested in the option for my Sega arcade stick. Your USB device should also be great for MIDI controller use.
