Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Well not really. Just as with Homer Simpson, years of Tetris came in handy: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81739280/
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8455#p91248
Just goin' eccentric in comfort. But what a sale it'll be when I've finished with most of this.
And the video? 'Man's ultimate video magazine'? That suggests a cultural document, else they would have said Men's.
I totally got away with that.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
All is safely bunkered in.
...Though do you think it's overkill having a spare spare LD player? Or even a spare spare spare?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/pioneer-laser ... 3a8655e83f
There are still plenty of 925s and 950s floating around, so I can wait 'til next year.
Maybe I can still stretch to a controller: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PIONEER-LASER ... 3386060df5
Now's the time to buy peak '90s analogue, still affordable and working. And I want to make sure I'm still watching when I'm an old man.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
And now I've those famous movies, how about some more obscure LD releases? Well, that's a reason I got it, to have a spread of stuff others ignore.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Queens-Bi ... 417854dc61
Alright, I think I can ignore that too.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Falklands-Tas ... 41780fa968
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACKADDER-GO ... 33843d4da7
I remember this new in HMV. First time I even saw a Laserdisc and thought it so fantastic, I would surely never own one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Factory-SEALE ... 4178089857
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BILL-EVANS-LO ... 4ac9fcbee9
Though I think DVD is now the home of the niche stuff. We got classic World In Action now....

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
...And here it is, my first Ebay auction.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1314558983
A small one to begin with as I'm still getting the work of it. If anyone has any tips, especially on payment, could I have them? Thanks.

My ref: http://www.interparcel.com/
Very handy couriers page.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
I've got that Trainspotting LD as well. Interesting to see what it will fetch.
That said, I might be interested in what other stuff you're selling.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Well there's one or two others I know I'll be ditching from that pile, plus one or two I'm surprised I wanted to keep. There's an Adam Sandler one with atrocious reviews but I thought was alright.
When I get through them and get the hang of Ebay, I'll let you all know.
Meanwhile, I have an interesting Pioneer problem. Well, curiosity. I've split the output to two televisions, one which accepts PAL and NTSC, the other just PAL. So the PAL telly displays NTSC discs in monochrome. Now, when I press the button to convert NTSC to PAL output, the PAL telly displays in colour - but the multi-format TV suddenly flips to black and white!
Any ideas? Is it possible the multi-format latches to an NTSC signal, which suddenly changes to PAL without the box catching on?

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
It might be that your multiformat TV is set to the wrong color format input. I remember I could set my SCART to S-VIDEO or something to get colors working with troublesome outputs. Check your AV input settings.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Well it's automatic, so possibly glitching. Not that it really matters as I'm only watching one screen or the other.
And one sweet thing is that Pioneer LD remote is common across the general range. Nice, wider options for spare control hunters.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
I did that this morning. You should have received emails about it which would tell you how to ask me for payment.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
OK, I got the email and sent the invoice. When I get the Pound, I'll follow where it rolls.
..And give it you back, if competence stretches.
Thank you very much for helping out and see you there!
