A final few conversions of famous logos and splash screens to Commodore graphics.
Another hark back to the days when anything on a computer even resembling something real was a cause to celebrate.
Though I'm genuinely surprised photodisks like mine weren't released commercially back in the day. And I'm sure techy kids would have loved seeing their own snaps on their Commie, BBC or Spectrum screens.
Truprint or Kodak could've done it. But then, we saw computers differently in the days before they became such top dog appliances.

Re: COMMODORE 64 VIDEO GRAPHICS.....
Well, by today's standards, those are the crappy graphics of the Commodore. But in context, a very impressive capability given the competition of the early '80s.
Clearly the Commodore graphics system favours certain colour and detail spreads.
Though even I forget how good the VIC chip was. Pixel art and the fancy demos never fail to bring that back home, especially when I think what a rush development job the 64 was. Far superior to the Spectrum, which always looked like it was on an acid trip.
Oh I say: http://zxspectrum48.i-demo.pl/zxgallery.html

Samples too: http://csdb.dk/release/?id=45850
Though I really want to find the Commie demo with the snatches of thumbnail video. I think the pics were taken at some European convention and it would really wrap up this photo journey into this miracle machine.
So maybe I'll have to make do with Kate Z's game mockups: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8623
...Yet I did see......
God, yeah.

More like you'd see on the Playstation. Though you can't run them on an unexpanded breadbin.
Beat that, Spectrum....
Mmmm. Nice car graphic in here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... yVrai7cYLI
Excellent for the cheap and cheerful end of the early '80s market.

Re: COMMODORE 64 PHOTOS: Events, Celebrities and things
And I can't resist, one more album through the grit filter of my favourite micro, that's all.
It does seem to be a leveller, with everything looking from the same era. And I've even put the Video Game Nerd in, as seems appropriate.
And heavy analogue-style degeneration. I wonder what copies of copies look like....

COMMODORE 64 IMAGE SCANNING - Not damn bad.
....Though I wonder if Chris Abbott's comments on the 64 palette being too dull is merely his reflection on the 64c.
Even when I revised the pictures and uploaded again just now, viewing on the original breadbin still made my captures look far too stark and horrible. The later model suddenly makes the photos look more like what they are - grainy little pictures coming at you through the fog of retro. And that's what we're after.
Maybe the designers anticipated more photo-realistic times. And perhaps those BBC colours he was after would have been in his grasp had he bought his machine before the Challenger blew up.
(And I was thinking of putting that in. Video game computers and explosions probably go together.)
So many seem to have sunburn but I like the challenge in it. Especially when you watch through your actual CRT.
Pity there weren't more photo graphics back when the machine mattered. Even though there was Samantha Fox Strip Poker, completely photorealistic alongside her newspaper spreads.
Even more ravishing when, just ten years before, most people just bought Pong consoles.
The Commodore was certainly special enough for child boffins to Logie-Baird their own scanning equipment....
Though on its best days it does look as good as a fuzzy TV picture.
Marvellous.

..And here are some very good photo graphics. Girly ones.
And that the graphical capability of a rushed 1982 home games machine? Oh yes.
How did I miss that?
