i know, i know, chastise me if you like but after many years (8) without one i finally have bought another C64 - now...the question is...what games should i buy????

Why not try Rolling Ronny, Mike Read's Pop Quiz, Heavenbound, Blazing Thunder, Hunchback 2, Kong Strikes Back, Who Dares Wins 2, Galaxy (1983), TV Games (pack includes Bullseye and Trivial Pursuit), Smash TV, Black Thunder/Suicide Express, Lemmings, Prince Clumsy, Kwik Snax or Mayhem In Monsterland for a knockout spread?

And grab this cassette for four more goodies. (Chameleon was crap.) I cut my Commie teeth on just this pile, save for Mayhem.

There's a hell of a difference between a tough game and a piece of sh*t with awful controls. And this tape quadruples the experience, just for you.

No wonder the freestyle guys look like they're falling off - it's pretty much what happens to you when playing such crud.

Still, as I found, an original Jive Bunny CD can always make the journey faster. They marked my 80s anyway and were a splendid mesh of sampling and cover band:

Well, priorities and things I suppose. If you pay more, you get the best but not everybody wants all the features.

It's on my target list somewhere. But if they put multi-driver MIDI on it, I'd buy it in a shot. Datel carts are so rare I count my lucky stars I found mine in a Sound Expander.

In Canada we have $1 and $2 coins. December last year, I picked up one of those plastic coke bottles that is a piggy bank. During the period of one year, anytime I had a $1 or $2 coin in my pocket, I threw it in the bottle.

This month I emptied the bottle and counted. I had $1800 in change. So far it has paid for winter tires and brand new brakes and brake discs for my car and I still have money left over to buy the 1541 Ultimate and to fund my arcade cabinet project.

If you save like that over a period of 6-12 months it wont feel as bad on the wallet.

Now that I've emptied the bottle. I'm starting all over again for next year.

There's a chap on another Commodore-board I visit who moaned excessively about the 1541U being too costly for his wallet, and how he'd rather get an SD2IEC. A few months after going for the cheaper option, he caved in and bought a 1541 Ultimate anyway.

The moral being that if you go for the good stuff straight away, you'll probably end up spending less money.
