Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
I think Ghostbusters was great to tinker with. But it was the bloody pits trawling through it.
Just thinking about it, I'm trying for an ST cover for the telly, to take my mind off.

Yes, on the telly. I'll be abusing it.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Ah,missed it. But I really feel like getting this book instead. Real period, which you only notice twenty years on:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Complete- ... 43c3799e70
Though I'm sure I'll need this, though the ST also has keyboard-mouse mode by default.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Atari-ST-USB- ... 20dd02032a
...And just look at this minty Commodore. Wouldn't it make your New Year?

Though I think I may now be birthing my BBC Micro music stage instead (barring the organesque samples made with the RT Russell interpreter.)
I'll try and get it going on the emulator but may yet grab a full machine. There's still a touch of space left for one.

And anybody want some diskies....?

So that's what the Christmas money should go on, the humblest unglamourous vitals. Even the mightiest Commie or obsolete PC runs dry with no media to feed 'em.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
I don't believe it, I lost my one of these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC-Laptop-VGA ... 3377e19ac1
And I can't believe the price of a fresh one either.
Nice book: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksi ... &_from=R40

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Was Arctic Antics an official Spy vs Spy game? I remember some controversy... or am I just mis-remembering? Love that BBC Master Compact, hired one of those from Leicester paid for by Superior Software for my only released Soundtrack
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?

Oo, that sounds interesting. Is the story already in the Remix 64 archive? Or would you mind sharing with us now?
And First Star did call it Spy Vs. Spy 3, so it must have been the proper sequel.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
And again my attention wanders as I spy more lovely BBC bits. My head says I've got the best stuff right here, with the Commies and ST. But my heart on the other hand demands.....
20 BBC disks at a 99p opening bid: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBC-Micro-Com ... 233478726b
An authentic Space Invaders clone:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPER-INVADER ... 58a9217ed2
Or a disk drive and floppies for a £7 opening bid: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBC-Micro-Com ... 33896c0561
Decisions.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
Effing jackpot.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acorn-BBC-Mic ... 19e73a07e7
Bloody can't afford it though. Unless it goes 'round and 'round enough until I can somehow collect some money.
Might just settle for this dirty old thing instead.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBC-Master-Mi ... 566013041a
Or this clean one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBC-B-MICRO-C ... 4d17237aca
...Plus a 10K resistor to re-route the speaker signal to the sequencer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1K-TO-10K-CAR ... 4ab59a9684
http://mdfs.net/Info/Comp/BBC/Monitor/BBCtoTV.htm
And perhaps also put in a switch, to toggle speaker and line out?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/One-pre-wired ... 3f2dd7feee
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toggle-Switch ... 5af92811fb
And just look at all that pure 80s-ness.

I remember being a bit puzzled by the Electron: a friend of mine had one but I think his regretted it. Beautiful BBC setup.

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
I was given an Electron once. If only I could see 22 years in the future, I'dve kept it!
And I quite like the look of the other Beebs here. I only need an unexpanded one as I do suspect romplers cover what the big one would sound like.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-BBC-MICR ... 4618d1ca27
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3D-GRAND-PRIX ... 4ac7d6db06
And I look forward to 'stealing' the envelopes in all the Beeb listings I can find and playing them polyphonically. Even sampling won't do them quite right but they will be different.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Making-Music- ... 1e85b24cd1
Now where did I put my copy of that book?

Re: Reaping the Ebay harvest
It does, especially as it seems I actually DUMPED my User Guide and Making Music. Yeah, I can't believe it myself.
Still, I've enjoyed some LORD PETER WIMSEYs I found at Oxfam.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lord-Peter-Wi ... 58aa2288d5
Nice series on the mystery solving toff. And I'm only missing one episode. Nice saving of maybe £30 for the lot at any rate.
