Well I dunno. Guitar Hero World Tour came with one in its drums and that was for the PS2. This does seem to take things a step further, along with that real MIDI guitar for the PS3 I mentioned before.
Next, a format I've neglected 'til now, as it was a bit crap even before it was launched: Video CD.

Many DVD players still play them, with its rarer cousin the Super VCD. But they were never going to work. For the price of a player and movies, you were just a few hundred short of a Laserdisc machine but plenty enough for a quality VCR with LP and Hifi. So obviously, the format was left behind. PCs could play 'em too, though, and they were big in the Far East for karaoke.
