Re: Razmo's Gear Rant Thread...
It's been a while... so I thought I'd better say something in here now
I've been selling a lot of hardware stuff over the last years, focusing on only some major synths... my hoarding technique in the past got out of hand, so I'm only going for some very special kind of gear these days. Currently I'm working with a Sequential - Prophet REV2 keyboard as my master keyboard, and have a Dave Smith - Roger Linn - TEMPEST at my side for percussion duties... I just ordered a Novation PEAK as well to get some hybrid synthesis into the game, but that's about it
I have also completely dropped MIDI programming in my compositions... I use the internal sequencers of my gear instead, but record audio tracks in the DAW, so it has become a lot more live performance oriented for me, but I prefer that... still use MIDI for editors though.
My style has also changed more into the Ambient style, and experimental electronic music... not so much love for the 4 on the floor anymore.
During the past 7 months I have been working on creating a sound bank for the Prophet REV2 synthesizer which was released about a month ago, called "Realms of Fantasy", a bank of sounds mainly aimed at Ambient and Fantasy music... it sold well until now, funding almost the full Novation - PEAK synthesizer which should be in next week... my next soundbank will focus on the same style, but for the PEAK synth...
You can hear a 1 hour and 28 minutes long demo of my soundbank if you go to my homepage here: https://razmo666.wixsite.com/website
That's about it ... just wanted to say that I'm still "looking over the shoulders" on Remix64 and KWED from time to time... and eventually, when I have enough sounds for my synthesizers, I'll probably do a C64 mix in the Ambient style... had that on my mind for a long time now
