To me it happened vice versa. :?

Ringtone started to sound like the mod. Specially it was extremely similar in .mod position 1min 40s(when there's drums etc with a melody).

That Tempest guy should try to keep a low profile, because i have a vision:

i see him, among the snow in the placid Finland minding his own business when a pimped dodge challenger, chromed alloys, jumping to da rythm gets close to him. The car is full of "niggaz" and girls shaking their asses, the the car does a passing by with machine guns shooting the poor Tempest. You don't mess with gangsta, man!

yo!
:P

Maybe it's time for the c64mafia to take a stand on the matter, what about that? :>

Heh. This is not a bad article (see below), but I think the misunderstanding of how the original tunes were made is kind of funny, notice how they say "to sound as if it were played" on each system, not that it was actually composed on each system.

Commonwealth Times Article
Janne Suni, who goes by the alias of "Tempest", is a "demoscener" who, among other things, programs songs using older styles of effects and arrangements that achieve a unique and old school sound that would remind many of playing a video game back in the '80s. In this case, Suni had programmed a song called "Acid Jazzed Evening" that would sound as if it were played on an Amiga computer system for a competition, which he won, back in 2000. Several years later, another demoscener, Glenn Rune Gallefoss, remixed the song, with Suni's blessing, to sound as if it were played on a Commodore 64 computer.

"to sound as if it were played"
Doing music directly with C64? Ouch. What a sick and twisted idea ;-)

If anyone can provide me with an MP3 of Glenn's Acid Jazz I'd love to play it on an upcoming episode of the C64 Take-away to do my bit to spread the message.

There's an MP3 available on http://pelulamu.net/timbaland/ but it sounds like something recorded off an emulator. I need the genuine article. :)

Actually, I don't think that the original MOD was composed on Amiga, but on PC, and then checked for playback accuracy on a Amiga before it was handed in to the compo.

It's from a video game, idiot! Freaking jerk!

That's very good evidence for the prosecution, isn't it? "I found it so I used it"?

What an arsehole.
