As for Flash, I can't see what benefit that would bring to such a site, but there you go.
makes it look good.
you dont ever look twice at a woman who isnt dolled up to the tits do ya?
but get that lady in the red dress.... and you just have too.
appearance is everything... even here.
i dunno whats going on with site squishing to be honest, its not doing it on mine, even when i drop my resolution it doesnt slide off to one side like your picture illustrated so in the words of towlie (i aint got a clue what the hell is going on).
but im sure sub will sort it.

I don't know whether you're aware that I've been in the Web design industry since the mid 1990s and write books and magazine articles on the subject, so I'm not just flinging about vague opinions. I don't think it's merely a subjective thing to say that Flash "looks good". This is something that crops up a lot with people just starting on with Web design, who don't realise that it's the _content_ that counts. Flash is often pretty superficial, and unless you're really good at using the application, you're better off sticking to creating static sites. If animation must be used then keeping it simple is a good idea, so it doesn't distract from the content. In fact, the small animation in the corner of this very site (well, pre snow effect) is a good example of this.
For the record, at the time the shot was taken the screen looked like that in Win XP/IE 6, too, but I couldn't be bothered to take a shot and copy it across to the Mac, hence taking the shot in Safari.

Lets not forget here craig that these guys are working to the best of their ability here. They arn't as knowledgable as yourself on web design nor even know how to design with the priciples of what fundementally designing i about. So don't be too hard on them.
Admitadly tho, it would be wise for them to listen to your words.

Tas - fair enough, and I apologise if I'm coming over a bit harsh. I know what it's like to take those first tentative steps in Web design, although when I did, there were no books and no decent sites on the Web to look for advice.
However, I'm the sort of person who "tells it like it is" rather than pussyfooting around the issue. At least then there's no misunderstanding.

Yes, i personally admire that. I too am someone who tells it as it is.
It would be good for sub to listen to you, rather than defend it. Thro experience i have found sometimes when your own ability doesn't shine it's time to listen.
