Based on me getting part 1 taken down, a claim from any of the above should do the same for part 2...

To be absolutely clear... I love it when people feel motivated to publish my stuff on YT... but if you haven't contacted me or, in most cases even credited me and you're making revenue from my hard work... then I get pissed off!

Yeah! Another 6 YouTube 'leech videos' taken down!

One dude emailed me.. asked me to reverse the request with YT so he didn't get a copyright strike and told me I should have had the courtesy to contact him and request him to remove the video... Yeah Right! :duh:

I don't recall a courteous email from him asking if he could make money from my intellectual copyrighted material... :arr:

Wait, are you striking gameplay videos as well?

I'm not sure copyright strike is the most reasonable way of doing that.

You're getting some bad PR over on twitter. I guess he had a let's play video that got taken down?

I respectfully refer you to my previous comment:

"To be absolutely clear... I love it when people feel motivated to publish my stuff on YT... but if you haven't contacted me or, in most cases even credited me and you're making revenue from my hard work... then I get pissed off!"

Even though 'Bubble Bobble' was an arcade conversion and therefore, technically a 'cover version', the C64 version music is still my intellectual property. If you re-publish my work because you like the genre or the individual tunes themselves, that's cool with me. It's a compliment! I feel flattered, humbled even. Once you monetize it and start making revenue from my talent, well! I'm repeating myself...

I'll take the flak from twitter... I'm not the one whose in the wrong here...

Instead of 2 simple take down notices, you sent 2 "copyright strikes" to a classic game fan Youtuber who did a play-through/long-play of 2 games you worked on decades ago? Are you aware that 3 copyright strikes cause complete termination of a Youtube channel (with all videos and subscribers lost forever)? However you might feel about this person "ripping you off so majorly" for the pittance these videos make in ad revenue, this was not the way to handle it properly in my opinion! Take down requests are perfectly fine to handle cases where you feel you got taken advantage of, which I don't even think was the case here. I'd like you to really think about if the punishment fits the "crime" here and consider retracting your claim as the Youtuber has already publicly stated that he would have taken down the videos on request anyway and pledged not to post anything again with your copyrighted works - here's how: https://support.google.com/youtube/answ ... ic=9282363

Common sense. Fair input.
