i'm using win xp sp1 & firefox 1.0.6 (very retro )

edit: just updated to firefox 1.5.0.1 but nothing changed

Maybe some sort of popup blocker or banner killer blanks the icon away?

omg, it WAS zonealarms bannerkiller.
i'm quite sure that this was the first thing i checked but obviously something went wrong
(nevertheless interesting that only the questionmark is affected)
