I too stopped listening to the radio ages ago. Been checking out stuff on http://www.garageband.com instead (nothing to do with the Mac proggy by the same name), loadsa different genres, free mp3 downloads, and if you want to support the artists by purchasing CDs a massive 60% of retail price goes straight back to the band. Beats mainstream big-5-record-labels-funded radio any day.

Anyhoo, enough plugging. Back to our regularly scheduled programming in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...

Maria Carey? Sting?

She's a lost cause, mate. Get the pair of you some decent headphones, listen to whatever you like, and let that be the end of it. :D

Convince her, that You need Your retro-time too.. ^^
Play it LOUD when she's not at home... Would be the best IMHO...

Heyho Thunderer, and welcome to our little neck of the woods.
Thanks Jan, I am enjoying it already. I wish I had signed up earlier though, much earlier.
Jan Lund Thomsen wrote: Case in point: A while back I had a SLAY Radio show on when the missus entered the flat from whatever it is that women do when we're not watching them, she started bobbing her head to the tune playing. That's when I told her she was listening to the Last Ninja 3 intro tune. Her reponse?

- Whoops!
Ha, ha, did that a couple of times but with the same response. To be fair, she has admitted liking a few remixes, without witnesses of course so there's no way to corroborate my claims, but "2 or 3 songs out of a hundred doesn't make it all good." I suppose that's a small positive sign.

I agree with all of you that people that have not grown up with the warm, sensual, emotional, aesthetic, eclectic, beautiful sounds of "bleep bleep" music will find it more difficult enjoying it.

I think she knows that but retro time somehow coincides with baby time, so I have my fix at work. My female colleague doesn't mind it surprisingly.

Once n3mo becomes Captain, I'll think we will get there...

...when he's not being 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, of course... :)

I like Sting. Not so keen on his most recent album though.

My girl doesn't like C64-remixes either. But she also doesn't like anything else what I like to listen to. So who cares.

Me and my gf went to BiT live last year :)

She's an old mac fan so she really liked the PPoT version of Monkey Island. I'll have her into Hubbard by the end of the year ;)
