The 275Mhz versions are apparently identical to the standard version apart from they have been tested and approved for overclocking to that speed. You can overclock the standard version, but if you fry it, you're fucked
Joypad, battery and screen problems don't appear to much of a problem anymore since the new V2 was released (apparently they are using a different screen now)...
Anyway, I will give a full review here once mine arrives

I'm going to yell out loud if you get yours before I get mine.
Been trying to get hold of the gametronics.se guys (who I ordered my unit from), to get an ETA, but so far they've not answered my e-mail and then I forgot to call them up this afternoon.

The C64 emu on it is good, as is the Megadrive Emu, the other emus kinda fall flat - especially mame and amiga emu. I found myself going back to my PSP more and more...

Dude. Give it a rest. I've already bought it, and I've heard a lot of people saying good things about it. So you had a bad experience with it - noted.
There's been a lot of updates to software, firmware AND hardware for the second make. I don't know which version you had, but I'm excited about this new toy and think it'll be a blast.
Now quit moaning about it, and go play with your PSP.
Besides, every one knows PSP stands for Pretty Small Penis, while the GP2x stands for Great Penis^2 eXtreme.

Yes, I did and I appreciate it. And I apologise if you feel like I snapped at you. That wasn't my intention. It just felt a bit like you were robbing me of my excitment when I'd already said I'd bought one, and you kept bad-mouthing it.
But yes, I did ask for your experience, and I'm glad you shared.
Now, let's hug it out, bitch!

Snogging is obviously too tepid for an argument of this magnitude.
Jello Wrestling is the only answer. Who wants the blue thong?

Well mine arrived this morning, so I popped home @ lunch to give it a quick blast
Gotta say that first impressions are very good. I only tried the joypad with the menu (of course) and one of the built in games (Vektar - a slick looking Asteroids/Blasteroids clone), and I personally found it to be very responsive (so THERE)! I've used an original Commodore joystick and a Quickshot and trust me, the GP2X controller is NOT as bad as some people are making out...
How it will hold up on some of the pixel critical C64 platformers is another matter, but I think it's safe for shmups
I can't wait to try Wizball!
Screen is bright and very clear, it's light in weight, a LOT smaller than I imagined (but much more comfortable to hold than a GB advance, which gave me cramp after about 10 mins).
In all honesty I don't think you need to worry, Makke. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that you should be excited right now - VERY excited
[edit] Oh yes, and I still hate you for making me buy it - I'm totally heffing broke now... you bastard...

Excellent! I got word from the dealer today, after trying to get hold of them FOR A BLOODY WEEK (last time I order anything from gametronics.se, that's for sure). Anyway, they said I should have my stuff within 10 days. F'ing long wait if you ask me.

Hahaha! Yeah, I really
forced you, didn't I?
But since you got yours before I got mine, you shall from this day forth be known as Bastardius Maximus!

[UPDATE]
This thing is class! I think I love it even more than my penis...
As for the stick - I played C64 Wizball on it last night and managed to get the FURTHEST I have ever got in the bonus round (you know, on the trip to the Wiz-lab)! I'd say it's passes the test, then!
Diagonals could be better, but I've never played a handheld that does diagonals particularly well (R-Type on the GB springs to mind)! It's as good as any other...
Oh yeah, and 1 set of rechargeable batteries (Vapextech 2500) lasted from 9.00pm to 2.00am, on and off (but mostly on)...
Kind regards,
Bastardius
