the background would have to be much lighter in print vs pdf to be readable.

I like the layout, it is much like computer magazines from back then, so it has kind of a retro touch. :)

Thanks, LMan!

Analog, I have some printed pages here and the background is lighter on the page than it appears onscreen...

Hey... don't they have "mastering engineers" on books to be released? :)

I've received the Foreword for the book, it's been written by a MYSTERY GAMING CELEBRITY. It's funny and it fits the book perfectly... if you want to find out who it is, you'll have to order a copy, won't you? ;)

Good guess, but it's not Archer.

If it's funny, it might be Jeff Minter or Gary Liddon...

This will be sweet....

Spotted an error on the first page though - Second part, first sentence: The machine was renamed the Commodore 64 (more commonly known as the Commodore 64) <-- shouldn't it be C64?
"...Yes, I DID make modules and demos on the Amiga, but I was never in one of the big groups..."

Err, it's not an error. It actually reads

"The machine was renamed the Commodore C64 (more commonly known as the Commodore 64)"

The important bit is the C in front of the 64.

I,

- definitely like the cover
- am progressive when it comes to graphics
- have quite a bit of hessitation when it comes to full background images with text on it, throughout the book - it'll take some thought

but that's just judging from memory and previous comments.... *runs off*

xo, the images behind the text are being chosen to make sure you can read what's in front of them...

...and remember, since this is a limited edition, you don't want to be kicking yourself when it sells out and you don't have a copy!
