Moad'Dib - It looks great seeing c64 on the PSP. My son's gets modded this weekend (I followed your advice and got someone else to do it !!), but I heard a rumour if you put a game disc in after it's been downgraded, it will automatically upgrade the system......
Fact or fiction ?????

I'm not 100% sure about UMD's but I'm sure about PS3's!! Some PS3 Games allow interaction with a PSP. If you update you're PS3 and connect you're PSP it will want to upgrade the BIOS.
This happened to my cousin.

And why would you do things like that??? After you modded your psp you'll never need any UMD.
Uhm....only once when you get the stuff off from the original UMD you bought.
1. Use of UMDs are make your psp's life shorter.
2. Use of Memory Stick more quiet.
3. Play ISO files from your Memory Stick much more elegant.
We've got 4Gb and 2GB Memory Sticks, working quickly and perfectly.
There are a lot of free homebrew games on the net. For example: yesterday I downloaded a fine chess game.
Btw: When content of UMD wants to upgrade your firmweare, choose NO and that's it...
Search Dark Alex on yahoo, you'll get your answers.

Well
I wouldn't of course, but my seven year old might. Shame too, as he has quite a few disc based games.
Thanks for the help and answers anyway chaps
