Doing some reading seems there is a revival with this card and Windows 7 is the reason.

After a protracted delay got the card today..

It sounds LUUUUUUUUUUSH. Also, it works really well in Win 7 32bit! Digital-out and everything into my SB-Xfi - which is essentially reduced to a set of monitor speakers by this thing

I also like that its got its own midi interface so it gets round an old problem of having my midi keyboard/synth, and seperate sound module \o/
I've been spoilt by VSTi's the last few years, but can't always afford to get ones I might want, despite having a superb set of sounds at my fingertips in hardware, its nice to have bread+butter instruments available to me again

yeah!.. you get to listen to that cool version of Voodoo Child(slight return) that came on the CD. ( it came with the db50 ). Damn what an outstanding midi file that is. If it's not on a CD with your card you NEED! to find it. Good luck with the new toy. Expecting results now

Do you plan on getting one of the Plugin cards also?

lol, not likely as a: I dont have the room inside the computer (its perilously close to the graphics card as is) and b: the XG just fills in a gap nicely for bread+butter instruments, everything else I can pretty much do with VSTi's... tho I'll admit the FM/DX7 module appeals
