Aye, LMan is correct. Dark Star by John Carpenter. From 1974.
Odd type of movie for his making, but still very memorable. =)
LMan's go, you chose. =)

Actually, Vossleboy didn't guess the name, you did, LManiac. =)
He just remembered the film and it's plot, but not the name, but as you obviously don't mind, Vosla has the go!

Captain:
No, no, no, no. Hang on to MacDonald, sergeant major, hang on to him.
RSM:
I don't know wether I can, sir... he's in a state of Itsubishi Kyoko McSayonara.
Captain:
What's that?
RSM:
It's the fifth state a scotsman can achieve, sir. He's got to finish himself off by lunchtime or he thinks he's let down the emperor, sir.

*DING! DING! DING!*
Yup! You're right!
Didn't came up with a proper "film" statement so I took Monty Python's Flying Circus #38 "Kamikaze Scots"

Personally my favourite has always been the Ant Counter sketch. Little seen, much under-rated.
Thought tv wasn't allowed? Never mind, I'm having my go anyways.
Recent film, but some of you might have seen it.
"Does it give you satisfaction, killing an old man?"
"No... but everything up to the killing will be a real gas..."
