Yeah, because of adblock
People can use my music all they want, but this one guy... The channel has 1100 videos with music he surely haven't made himself, and with over 10 million views.. now, if all of the vids are monetized, that's between 15.000 and 20.000 $.
He's doing a great job collecting all this music, but it still pisses me off. As we say in Norwegian: FOR en jævla frekkas! I almost took down the channel with a couple of copyright claims, but he contacted me, and I felt sorry for him.
Well, I'm not going to pursue this any further.

I had an issue where my tracks were spread to different profiles on Spotify, so after fixing this I reported Jordan Gold directly to Spotify. We'll see if they can at least remove his stolen works from there.

Can anyone offer any guidance on this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD7Ti5-X5Ww
Contacted this guy via facebook because he's got Ocean Loader 3 in there and the video is monetized..
He was really reasonable & understanding but said he hasn't monetized the video - He showed me the youtube form for the video and it clearly states 'can't be monetized'.. but then further down the form it says 'Monetized in some territories'.

The copyright claimant seems to be 'Taktakt' via 'Rebeat Digital GmbH' for 'Thing on a spring' [original sid] - Rob's original... The claim sites this track:
https://www.beatport.com/track/spring-o ... WKqjj-GasA
It uses about 20 seconds of the sid track at around 3:25..
I want to be reasonable with the 'youtuber' re ocean loader 3... but Taktakt whoever they are using blatant fraud to get revenue, albeit small-potatoes at 179k hits.
Dilemma ... what to do about it... any suggestions?

After about 30 seconds of playing google detective, it seems to me that Taktakt is a german dude who makes electronic music with some of it being straight up remixes of sid tracks. At least one.
Notice the clever switching of words here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dkg-_K41qAM
Obviously he shouldn't be collecting royalties for people using the sid in videos. If anything he should be paying royalties to Rob.

Well, yes, this is where I step in and I will look at this later: it's always happening that bozos sample SID without permission and end up with copyright claims over the original SID. Also, Peter, you're misunderstanding what the page is saying: it's saying that the copyright owner's policy (i.e. Rebeat) has a policy of monetization in some territories: not that the video is.

So... If the video is riddled with ads, (which it is).. Then the video IS monetized.. yes?
If it's monetized.. who monetized it? and who's getting the ad revenue? Rebeat? Taktakt? or the YouTuber?
Obvs.. I can't do anything directly regarding the 'thing on a spring' sampling as I'm not the copyright owner, but hopefully Chris, you're still in touch with Rob who can just get the copyright claim squashed via YouTube.. they're cheeky b**tards!
As far as I'm concerned.. I just want to try and make sure that the YouTuber is genuine... He seems it. Don't wanna be accused of being heavy-handed again.

The monetisation is indeed being done by Rebeat, on behalf of Taktakt. The YT video owner is entirely blameless.
And, I'm acting on behalf of Rob here, so I will have to sort this out.

Okay Chris... If I can help.. just ask!
Meantime.. I'll get back to the YouTuber.. and give him my thanks for promoting my music...

Cheers Peter, sounds like a plan.

Spotify has taken the Jordan Gold album down "pending investigation". Hopefully it stays down.

I haven't been able to get around to it yet. New dog has thrown my schedules for a loop.
