Anyone else having problems connecting to any seeds on this one?

Thanks to a couple of leechers with good upload speeds Azureus grabbed the first 89% of the DVD in a couple of hours, but now that I've caught up, the download has slowed down to almost modem speed. The number of seeds have increased while I've been grabbing this, but Azureus can't connect to any of them. :(

It's taken me over 4 days to get to 89% downloaded but I have been connected 24/7 with good upload/download speeds.

It's now dropped to almost nothing speedwise to download.

It's as the seeds are there, but aren't open for connections from the outside (usually NAT issues). Azureus is reporting a lot of "failed to establish outgoing connection" errors, which seems to support this.

Incidentally, Missers RKO 2008 Q1 torrent connects me to four seeds straight away and starts downloading at full speed - so methinks the connection problems aren't at this end of the ether. :D

Since you're also seeding, by your own logic, you deserve as much blame as everyone else. :D

Here's hoping that the current batch of leechers are able to seed properly, so people won't get stuck at 99,9%

Bittorrent doesn't quite work like that. An initial seed can only be considdered "complete" if the remaining peers can piece together a complete copy. Since this one's availabilty (currently 97.4%) increases ever so slowly that suggests that there's a single seed with a slow upload rate that is transferring to one of the other peers, who in turn distributes it amongst the other peers.

So if that single seed decides to stop uploading then everyone currently downloading (and everyone who connects to the swarm in the future) will eventually get stuck at whatever percentage of the torrent that the swarm can assemble internally.

If anyone's managed to download the complete thing and is willing to help the rest of us out, PM me.
