How do I stop the screen blanking out on LOAD?

Is there a POKE and SYS I can do to reset the Commodore and keep the text input screen visible on tape load?

I fancy experiencing a tape load as it was on my old PET. At least until the coloured bars start flashing, or maybe even after that in certain cases.



Though don't bother if it's more than a couple of lines or something.
