I find it interesting that studio grade recording tape was only surreptitiously put the public's way, for a limited time only. Or only found in some specialist shops you couldn't find too many of. It was only a few years before the Studiospares generation grabbed themselves more of the keys to the kingdom.
But even so, for those with the cash, the doors were opening.
