Looks like the ultimate equipment for the non-hardware music creators among us (like me). =)

That is impressive: very nice for sequencing without having to keep moving your arm to another part of the room!

If there were ten times as many C64 fans buying CDs, I'd buy you one in an instant :) Or is that an Instant Remedy? ;-) (referring to the recent C64RMX thread).

For those who don't subscribe to C64rmx:

Hi everyone

It's been awful quiet here lately.

I'm interested in hearing other peoples opinion about this topic. I really liked the old tunes by Instant Remedy, but I don't really like his CD that much. I agree that the sound and production is top notch, but I don't like the way he has covered the tunes. They are often too mach "trance" and don't stick close enough to the originals. It's more like an Instant Remedy composition with a few C64 elements rather than a C64 cover/remix.

This is where Sonic Wanderer comes in. In my opinion he is the new Instant Remedy. Some of his remixes are REALLY cool. They have this dance-feel like the old Instant Remedy remixes, but they stay closer to the originals compared to Instant Remedys latest offerings.

So.....Sonic Wanderer beats Instant Remedy. Does anyone agree/disagree? :-)

Personally I think the comparison is much less apt than it used to be, since your latest remixes have been much different to your earlier ones: more 80s :) And IR's brief is pretty much to do club music.

Is this the record for the most times a person has replied to his own replies?

I think I remember we had a discussion about that before, and I think I remember that Sonic Wanderer didn't particularly like to be compared to IR all the time. Cause he does his own stuff in his own style, not in IR style. Right, Sonic? :)

Yep, I also think that Sonic got his very own style... more progressive... then IR.....

I think that the difference with between Sonic’s stuff and IR is that sonic manages to capture the essence and feel of the original sid. He makes subtle changes that compliment the original and he doesn’t try to change its composition too much. IR on the other hand has gone down the dance club road and modifies the Sid to fit the style and speed of modern dance music. In the end it all comes down to a question of choice 80's and 90's style or 2000 up beat dance Sid’s? Or dose it come down to a question of age? Are most Sid fans in there late 20's and early 30's?

Sometimes you can't perfect on perfection just look at all the crap covers in the charts recently? It seems best to stick with the Sid and enhance it more bringing it up to date rather than completely change it and loose it’s true spirit. :D

I think it's safe to say if Sonic was planning to put out a commercial CD I would certainly have to brush off the dust on my chequebook and sign on the dotted line. All his latest covers are great and I think most people out there would purchase such a CD without any second thought!

This is the second version of the Prodikeys, the 1st launched more than an year ago. Sadly, it never saw the europe. And you know, if you try to buy oversea electronic devices without the CE mark, they will be sent back to the origin by the custom :(

Agreed. Read the HITTING THE HIGH NOTES special on the Aural Nomad in the Remix64 articles NOW...

(This also marks a year of my being on this forum, averaging a message a day! And I'm not that angry that no-one has remixed my SIDs. Maybe I will find time to do it myself this year...)

And having spent five minutes editing that last post, I realised it would have been quicker to post a new message... that way, people will see it's a new post...
