The Desert Dream !

Here's my attempt to offend all by covering one of the most famous Amiga demos themes ever...
Started this by accident - was actually working on composing a new theme for Kenz's Xmas chortles intro - but all of a sudden the chords started sounding familiar... and I couldnt help myself.. I broke off and started work on the opening theme from Desert Dream....
Please let me know what you think!
UPDATE:Slightly tweaked version - see post below for info.

Sweet! This should've been done a long time ago. I've been thinking of remixing the entire Desert Dream soundtrack at some point, but of course lazyness always prevailed.
This is excellent! That sample in the beginning, where's it from? If I'm not remembering totally wrong, that's the same voice as in the beginning of "It Came From The Desert".

Yup, its from Cinemawares It came from the Desert - and I was determined to get that in there I can tell you! Hunting for the game online - then using emulation to nick the sample, convert it etc..

Someone finally remixes Desert Dream? This I have to hear. In progress... I love the voice from It Came from the Desert, a classic. Nice flute, fits nicely. Its gets a bit more powerful sounding. Thanks for this easter egg! I *whip* expect the sequels.

Sorry but I altered the track somewhat and have re-uploaded (with different filename)
I had the TV on during the mastering, and for some reason the high-frequency noise from it leaked into the track.
So I remastered it, and tweaked a few things that annoyed me about the track a little.
AmigaRemix admin:I'll reupload the tune with this filename:
Desert_Dreams(Part_one)-fz.mp3
Sorry for being a pain.

I must get Zara and Laxity to hear this
Kefrens - strange recent history... one half turned into a webdesign and business management software designers - and, i dont know if theyre related, but a german group also called kefrens spung up and make viri !! Ooohh ... oh so nasty things they are...
Desert Dreams .... the first demo i ever saw that had voodoo quality animation on it (the wooden spinning 3d title block). Wasnt desert a dig at Melon (iirc)...
Top remix, Nice 1 Feekzoid 10/10 !!

Sooo many happy memories - the speech at the start (I *loved* It Came from the Desert) and the Desert Dreams demo was damn fine too.
Nice work Feeko!

You have done quite a remarkable job on this, one of my all time favourite Amiga demo songs gets a makeover, fantastic!
Look foward to Part 2 and if you ever decide to do an extended version of part 1
Out of interest, what hardware and software did you use to compose this?
Regards
Calen

Thanks for comments!
Software was Renoise, using a bunch of VSTs, and externally a Roland JV2080.
