Never discovered by me until now: http://www.vangelismythodea.com
Personally I was expecting this album to be more Spiral;escue than opera, so I am a bit dissapointed :(
I wonder what Tom(and mb LaLa?) thinks...

I bought this long time ago!
It was the music for the: NASA MISSION:2001 MARS ODYSSEY
I must say that i like it very much. Of course it's more an Orchestral-Longplay rather than a typical VANGELIS Album , but still very VANGELIS_like
Give it a second try MAX, darken the room and close your eyes !!
It's not as good as EL GRECO (dedicated to Domenikos Theotokopoulos, a greek painter, famous for his religious pictures and portraits)
but i was not dissapointed to be honest!

cheers

Dark room, close eyes, and maybe use phones? Well I'll try that trick, Tom. It's probably better than cleaning my apartment at the same time ;)
I bet you've bought the dvd too ;D

Damn, I've got brain damage from memorising so many song lyrics. As soon as I read that I started singing "dark room, bright light... I take pictures, photographic pictures". Damn you Depeche Mode! :)

yep, i admit...but i think the version from the 'some bizarre album' (i've got the LP)
is much better in my opinion 'cause it sounds a little bit rough and that's
why i like it....

btw. if you got the chance to get this album...GET IT it's great....!!!!
features the first releases of Soft Cell, Bmovie, Depeche Mode, The The
and lot's of other great new wave / electronic stuff.... :P

 yes of course !!!! I even got CHARIOTS OF FIRE on DVD but i didn't buy "Mutiny on the Bounty" although the Soundtrack by VANGELIS is awesome, but the DVD-Tone is crap!! I only buy DVD's with DD.5.1 ( especially if i am interested in the Soundtrack)!!!

Speaking of great soundtracks, just bought "Total Recall (uncut)" on DVD, which has a really great soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith. :)

"Total Recall (uncut)" on DVD?
Where did you buy this?
I guess it has the sign on it that you can see on the left right now ;-)

Didn't get it as "Stand Alone", but fortunately I found a copy of the Schwarzenegger³ box at Pro Markt (FSK 18 section), which contains Total Recall, Red Heat and T2 as uncut versions. Cost me 50 € tho... :-/

Pro Markt has a real FSK18 section?
I ask because the really full version of TR is "indexed" and cannot be sold in a supermarket in Germany.

Yes our local Pro Markt has a real (and elaborate) FSK18 section in midst of the regular storerooom. No porn tho, only violent movies.

I actually found that funny, too, because a buddy of mine works at Media Markt, and they're bound to sell the FSK18 stuff under-the-counter, only on request.
