Such a shame he has passed away. The Total Recall and Basic Instinct soundtracks are some of his finest work amongst countless other classics.Markus Schneider wrote:One of the best composers for film and tv with at least 310 listed projects has passed away on Wednesday evening after a long battle against cancer

He will be sorely missed.

Aw crap.
You know me, massive soundtrack fan. Never forget the blaster beams of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, or the sheer, shat-pants terror of The Omen and Alien. God bless the guy for his invention.
Righty, must go off and listen to the ST: Nemesis o.s.t. in tribute. Would try for something better, but its the only Goldsmith score I actually own. Still great though. Apart from the keyboards... Ahem.

Great, another set of strings ruined...
Errr... no, he actually didn't do "Judge Dredd" - that was Alan Silvestri. Jerry composed some great music for the "Rambo" flicks with Stallone though: "First Blood" is still one of my favourite action scores of all time! And I always loved the way he used synths and effects (like the aforementioned beam in the "Star Trek" movie) with the orchestra...
