Retro Scene ... our world of pixels

Been thinking a lot over the last few days about all the retro GIGing we have around us. BIT, RV, CGE, JAGFEST to name but a few. This is all very cool... but is does need looking at carefully.
I know this has been said before but in truth I really think that inorder to keep this scene alive we need to work together as one. Not one event, lots of events that we run individually... spaced around the calendar so that there is good space between each in order for refueling and selling of tickets.
Retro Games World (RGW) is that portal, the one I run for free... if we are to see this scene grow over the next few years we need to support the idea of a collective area for resourse that benifit ALL OF US. This cant be underestimated... if we can make RGW grow then the events listed within will flourish.
It is public that Chris lost some cash on BIT... bugger! not good... so how can we prevent this from happening again? Awareness! I truly believe that putting the word around is the way to go.
RGW as a site is run from profits (ha, well... pennies) made from RV gigs. Anyone who makes a donation is thanked and that cash goes to keeping the server happy. I dont take a pennie, I dont want it! I'd much rather keep this scene alive in any small or large way I can.
So, everyone... lets bring this thing alive! and work towards 2006 with massive support!
Sorry if that was preaching...
