Yes, made another one of those boring 64-remixes, who can resist ? ;-)
Its like being addicted to remixing, I can´t help it :-)

Made using Steinberg Cubase SX3 & Hypersonic, ReFX Vanguard,
Access Virus, UAD-1, TC Powercore :-)

That´s all!

Oh, and you don´t need to turn up the volume... I allready did that for you ;-)

I like it it a lot!! Best C64 remix this year together with Razmo's Terra Cresta remix.

[bopping my head in rhythm with the beat]

Really nice synths!

Sounds like Virus and Vanguard synths (my favourites). :)

What did you use for mastering?

Hey thanks man!
About the synths and the mastering... I thought that was clear in the above lines in my initial posting ;-)

Yeah got the synths but no word on mastering?

Could be X5?

A touch of X3 (tweaked the CD-Master preset to use far less compression)
and LA2A before that in the master-chain. I used the compressors available from UAD-1 Studio Pak and Powercore on the single tracks as needed. The UAD-1´s Dreamverb gives the trance-synth that "classic" touch. Also used Cambridge EQ and Pultec on 2 tracks.

After the criticism I read about this my remix now that it is released on RKO, I think that either the critics are from planet "bad taste" or "we can´t do it better since we´re lamers, but we have to write something cause we have a bad day today, like most of our days".

It is obvious (again, like always before) that people judge the SID, not the remix.

I think I´ll do C64-Remixes in the future without releasing them to the public.

No need to be angry ..

I just read the reviews to it, well tough shit. dont take it to seriously tho.
The mix itself is as lman said "Crystal clear" and there is nothing bad to say about the whole piece, except that it gets a bit dull at times. but technically its very good. i wish my mastering would be that good.

Uh, i know the feeling (what about "now, this is boring" referred to my remix of Blowing....? no comments..).

Anyway, a fast review from someone who doesn't know the sid:

-Technically is very very good: every sound is well placed, both positionally and dynamically. Some sounds have too much stereo presence for my tastes, but that's probably only me.
-Sounds are generally very good, with the only exception of the toybox at the start that's terrible.
-Dunno if this is a 1:1 conversion. In that case, it should please the purists between us (except the ones with allergy to unz-unz, but that's a their problem, not your).
-Lasting appeal: as i said, it has nearly nothing negative in my POV, except for the fact it leaves me a cold feeling, maybe because it features no memorable moments (and that may be a flaw of the sid, dunno).

Ciao.
